Mask for NYCHA Residents

All New York state residents are required to wear a mask or some kind of face covering when out in public under a new executive order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo that went into effect at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17th, 2020. It applies to people over age 2 who can "medically tolerate" a mask or face covering.

New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is home to over 500,000 people. Families with children and seniors aging in place, in predominantly high rise elevator buildings. Because of this unique architecture and the limited resources of the residents it is imperative that protective masks be made available to decrease and mitigate the risks of infection and mortality rates of the coronavirus in these Public Housing Communities, that have been identified as the most vulnerable population to this pandemic.

It is our objective to effectively address this pressing issue through this initiative “Mask for NYCHA Residents”

Share for Life has partnered with the NAACP NYCHA Branch, the National Action Network's NY Public Housing Chapter and NYCHA Tenant Associations throughout the five boroughs of NYC, to help provide masks for residents of the NYCHA

This initiative will enable us to provide 500k masks for residents living in NYCHA, within 30 days.

Join us in helping to make to save lives by donating to this initiative!
