For the past 40 years, our small community has existed in the rural countryside of upstate New York, and has become a cultural melting pot for Islam by joining many families from traditional American backgrounds with many families from traditional Muslim backgrounds from all over the world. In this way we have become one big family, with only Islam and our Muslim American identity in common. We have met and prayed in a small farmhouse on top of a hill, surrounded by beautiful trees and open space. It has always been part of our collective intentions, by the leave of Allah (swt), to fill part of that beautiful space with a beautiful mosque.
We ask that you might share the vision and dedication to build this mosque, along with all associated blessings and rewards. In fact, you may not know of our community very well, and for this we pray that your blessings and rewards may be even greater than ours, as it is only love for Allah (swt) and His Blessed Prophet (pbuh) which brings us together and may support your wish to assist this project.
We end this request with a simple reminder from both the Glorious Qur’an and Hadith for why all of us are striving to support the construction of new mosques:
The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. (Surah At-Tawba, 18)
O Believers, spend of the wealth We have bestowed upon you (in Allah's way), before the Day comes when there shall be no buying and no selling; when neither friendship nor intercession will be of any avail. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 254)
Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” Source: Ṣaḥih Muslim, 533b
