Asleep DBS procedure

Donation protected
As many of you know, i was diagnosed with early onset parkinson's in 2009.  Six months ago i was ready to do just about anything including travel to mexico to have stem cells injected into my body.  fortunately i didnt go through with the stemcell injections.  it turns out that these jokers are modern day snake oil peddlers that hope to rope a sucker like me that is looking for that miracle.  My condition has actually improved since i have switched doctors.  Increased my dosages seems to do the trick, but as most of you know that is a bandaid that slowly falls off.  To stay on the positive there are a number of new medicines that have come out and a good number of studies on potential for stemcell use in the future.
My new doctor says i am a good 6 months to a year away from NEEDING the deep brain stimulation.  You can probably guess the difference between dbs and asleep dbs.  Correct, one you are asleep the entire procedure and the other you are awake.  Only three spots in the US offer the asleep dbs and fortunately the leader in this new surgery is in the video above at  U of P med.  I am figuring on it taking a year to raise the out of pocket for the procedure, so any help is appreciated and all you that donated already...thank you so much.
