Hello my name is Christoffer.
I am currently volunteering as a teacher at Masindi Town Model School in Masindi, Uganda. The children are very engaged in the lessons and enjoy going to School everyday. There is always a guarentee for happy children, ready to learn and have fun, which makes teaching easy :)
There are 600 students at the School, distributed between 7 classes. This makes the classrooms very crowded, where the students sit on benches, shoulder to shoulder. There are 3 long benches in each classroom, where two of them are placed besides windows that are wide open all day. This means that in the rainseason, which just started, rain will pour inside the classroom and wind will blow inside all day. This makes the students wet and cold, and their books and papers will get wet and when they are having break, their papers will fly away if they don’t bring them with them outside to play.
Therefore the funding will first and foremost go to making the classrooms a more suitable and healthier enviroment for the students to be taught in.
Anything you can spare, will be a great help.
