Mary's vision loss

My friend, Mary, recently suffered the catastrophic, sudden, and permanent loss of vision in her left eye.  The cause of her condition is unknown.  She is continuing to adjust to this drastic change in her life.  She has returned to work part-time, but needs our help to pay for current and future medical bills and to recoup lost income for living expenses for her and her daughter Eva. 

Mary is a truly special person.  She brings light, laughter, and happiness to the lives of all who know her.  She glows with gratitude, acceptance, and love.  She is facing this unexpected challenge with her usual grace and optimism, but is understandably worried about what the future may hold.

My father lost an eye in an accident as a teenager and then later lost almost all of the vision in the remaining eye.  The impact on his life was devastating, so vision loss is an important issue to me.  Mary needs to be able to take advantage of ANY emerging options and technology.
