Help Mary with ALS Medical Expenses

The last year has made Mary and I realize just how unpredictable life is and that you should be grateful for every day...
In 2016, Mary had dropfoot and was limping. They could not figure out why and did a spinal surgery thinking that was it. She kept getting weaker and had a fall in Dec 2016, breaking her ankle in three places. In early 2017, she continued losing mobility and by September she could no longer stand. In September, they finally gave us the diagnosis but it was definitely not what we were hoping for...it is ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). They say the average lifespan from the first symptoms is 2-4 years and we can definitely see the progression as she is almost bed bound 24/7. But Mary is still dedicated to trying to ‘Stephen Hawking‘ the crap outta this!
The cost of paying for a full time caregiver is pretty incredible and we are still on the waiting list to get Medicare to pay for some of it. In addition to Mary's healthcare costs, she has started her inevitable decline, being mostly bedbound every day, losing the use of even her hands, and now her voice is becoming difficult to understand clearly. She also is needing respiration in order to sleep and keep oxygen flowing properly. Ted has to work during the day to keep the ship afloat. And after buying a handicapped van in October, the medical expenses are starting to mount again for us.
If you are in a position to help, it is super appreciated. We are thankful that we have a full lifetime to remember together. Living in London, helping her get into Stanford, working at our startup GoTo together, years of watching our kids grow up. Now that she has pretty much only her memories left, we are dedicated to helping her as much as we are able.
