Legal fees for saving my House

Since becoming disabled I have had to have my home adapted and extensively renovated, privately, because the local council, instead of helping me with a mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant which they kept promising to give me for over ten years, finally threatened to slap an order on my home saying my home was 'unfit for human habitation'! (Hence some of the need for extensive renovation in addition to the essential disability adaptations; the rest of the renovations was to meet the insane modern day building regulations on a house built before 1900, which my local council insisted on before they'd allow the wheelchair adaptations I so desperately needed).

I have been struggling ever since then (for the past 6 years) with massive and growing debts, due to an ongoing, horrendously stressful and expensive dispute with the builders and the surveyor who was overseeing the project, including a terrifying, very protracted legal battle to save my home when they wanted to overcharge by £70,000 plus VAT and 8% interest, plus 10% of that, plus VAT, for the surveyor's fee! I did manage to get Legal Aid for some of this, but with the cuts to Legal Aid these days, it has to be paid back with interest!

Finally the battle is over and I have managed to save my home, but at a cost, a cost of thousands of pounds (£13,500) as the final settlement with the builders but thankfully nothing to the surveyor, and I'm not yet sure how much to Legal Aid, and £10,000 to my solicitors, which being disabled and on income support and on top of my existing debts, I have no means of paying and therefore am appealing to my friends and support network to please help me if you can with your donations and/or to help me spread the word and fundraise for this appeal.

I'm asking all my friends, old, new and not yet met, wherever you are in the world, for your help in supporting and promoting and sharing this appeal, in the hope you will support me in whichever way you can from wherever you are, if nothing else please join me in spirit and add your positive energies to my appeal. To start the fundraising ball rolling and to help me to let my friends know about my desperate situation and to ask them all for their help with this appeal, my friends and I organised a fundraising gig at the Grey Horse in Kingston-Upon-Thames on Sunday 26th October, but this was just the beginning, as it is going to take a long time and a lot of effort and support to save my house and raise enough to pay the thousands of pounds I owe. (£10,000 to my solicitors and £13,500 to the builders: £23,500 in total).
