Maryann Chromicz Hernandez

Maryann was a loving mother, daughter, sister, teacher,  singer, catholic, girl scout,  active Odd Fellow member, and friend. She had been battling cancer for the last two years and passed late on March 25, 2018. Maryann leaves behind her beloved daughters, Jessie and Emily, and her rascal of a bunny Luna. Jessie, a 25 year-old recent graduate from the Pratt Institute, is solely responsible for covering all of her mother's memorial costs and needs your help.

Maryann served as a public school teacher for an underserved district for almost 20 years; moreover, she spent her entire time teaching as a single mother of two. Her girls were part of many extra curricular activities such as girl scouts and tennis. Additionally, she was a member of Saint Cecilia's Adult Choir for six years and was a Sunday school teacher for 10 years. Finally, Maryann organized for over 50 low-income at-risk students to attend sleep-away summer camp, sending roughly 2-7 students every summer (at zero cost to the families). She took the initiative to fund raise the money and would literally drive the kids to this camp in her own vehicle. Maryann gave every second of every day that she had available to others and she passes that legacy on to her friends and family.
