MaryAlice Sabat's Road to Recovery

For those of you who don't know the situation. Our Mom MaryAlice was in a horrific motorcycle accident on Friday morning 4/28. You can imagine how gut wrenching it was to hear she has suffered LIFE THREATENING injuries. She had to be intubated on site at the scene of the accident. With a huge blow to the head she also endured traumatic brain injures (swelling and bleeding) which later led to "make or break" surgeries to SAVE HER LIFE. She also had a few broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The first couple days in ICU and she was diagnosed with pneumonia in that particularly collapsed lung. During all of this she, of course, had to remain intubated on LIFE SUPPORT. ( She was unable to breath on her own) She had been at the University Hospital in SA for a total of 24 days. 22 of which were spent in ICU. After treatment and tramendous care her lungs were built up enough to get off of the breathing machine. So on 5/22 her medical professionals determined it was time to move foward with her recovery process and proceed to the next step. She has been transfered to a neuro rehab facility, and will undergo further treatment and therapy. She still has a long road ahead but we, as her family, will be here and there every step of the way! With that in mind our Dad has not left her side throughout this all. He has been with her every single day, day in and day out. So you can imagine the loss of financial stability for the house-hold with both of them being out of work, thank goodness for the AWESOME company that has helped support our family as long as 23+ years!!!(so just to be clear there is still some type of income, just not what they need).And as hard as it is for me to ASK for help, I know it would be even harder for them to ask, so I am doing this so they won't have to. I have put a couple of fund raisers and benefits together to help with bills, but me being out of El Paso, it's hard to reach everyone who is connected to US as a FAMILY <3 And I have received a few messages of encouragement to set up this GoFundMe page.
