Maryah's Medical Expenses

Hello!

My name is Mrs. Monteiro and my name is Mrs. Mercurio. We are middle school teachers from the state of New Jersey. We have created this GoFundMe in hopes of helping one of our former students with her ever-piling medical bills and crossing all the items off of her “bucket list.”

Maryah, age 16, a high school freshman was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in the knee her 8th-grade year shortly before the COVID-19 Pandemic. Both surgeries and chemotherapy have taken place. The Cancer has now advanced to both her lungs and her blood. Her doctors believe all treatment options have been exhausted. 

When Maryah was in 8th grade she was a vital part of our middle school community as the lead in our Wingman Program which is a school-wide, student-led initiative to make everyone feel included and valued. Maryah worked mostly with students on the Autism Spectrum because she is a model of kindness and compassion. 

Maryah strives to one day complete a nursing program, as she loves to help others in need. Right now, we are striving to make her “bucket list” dreams come true. No donations are too small and all are greatly appreciated.


Maryah will be in Florida from May 20-June 1. 


Back to NJ for the month of June and part of July.  She will then settle in Florida in mid-July.

- koala (I gave her a stuffed animal one because the real koalas don’t like hugs apparently. But maybe we can get her to a Koala zoo exhibit)

- limo arrangements for a girls tea party (jersey. Date and location still in the works)

-travel with a friend 

- go to Vegas

- go to LA

- go to Bora Bora 

- Disney (especially Pandora, Avatar & Jurassic)

-loves Rachel Ray so an experience with her or even a signed cookbook would be cool. - people have emailed and tweeted. (producer has been emailed and currently awaiting response)

 
She loves painting, cooking/baking, singing, playing the piano, and Spanish singers Camilo and Chiqui Rivera.
