Mary's Community Church - Africa (Malawi)

Firstly, thank you for taking time out to read our story!
The WHY...
In 2011 I made my first trip to Malawi,Africa. During my time I met some inspiring people, one of which was Mary. She lives in a rural village in Lilongwe. She welcomed me into her home and family. I visited her village and the experience touched my heart. The love and passion they have for their community was inspiring.
On my third visit to Malawi Mary and her family took me to their local church Shalom Christian Church. I was greeted by their Pastor Beston Vita. My experience of the church was like no other. A small building with no electricity or windows and just a few small benches and yet the room was filled with so much love,compassion,happiness and hope.
See, for this community the church doesn't just represent their dedication to their faith but provides a space in which they can gather together and celebrate the triumphs and hardships of life. A safe haven and a space that brings hope.
This brings me to the WHAT...
The church is in desperate need of some basic renovations. They need cement for the flooring, and plaster/sand for the remaining exterior walls. The community are unable to raise funds as many of the congregation are well below the minimum wage making food and education a priority.
My aim is to raise enough funds to complete the renovations needed to make Mary's church functional. The church means so much to each family who attend and I hope that with the help of my friends and family we can spread a little love to those in need.
Providing the community with a church means that Mary and her family always have a place of refuge.
Any donations would be GREATLY appreciated. I am in regular contact with Mary and her family so will ensure all donations go directly to her.
