It started like every other MS Bike Ride.  Our team was the biggest yet!  Everyone was excited to ride, and Jennifer's Warriors were ready to roll!  You may have seen our yellow shirts there were 9 of us, but one of our teammates and a first time rider did not make it to the first rest stop.   Half of our team waiting at the rest stop for four of the girls...where were they?  We heard sirens....then received the phone call....Mary was hit by a car.  As the first half of our team rode we saw a black car driving irratically and said "that guy better slow down"...well he didn't... and kept swerving from one side of the road to the other.   He was on the wrong side of the road and another car had to avoid him by going into a ditch...the driver over corrected came back up onto the road and hit Mary....she was life flighted to Metro, and the man who caused the accident fled the scene...the police caught up with him.  It was found that she sustained pelvic fractures, a fracture of her femur, tibia and fibia....Mary nearly lost her leg.  If it wasn't for the team of medical personel that were riding behind her she may not be with us today....if one of the men that helped Mary is reading this please contact me as soon as you can.

Mary is a 22  year old senior in the Civil Engineering Program at Cleveland State University.....she was rushed into surgery on Saturday the day of the accident and had another surgery today (8/8/17)....there are at least 2 more surgeries planned.   Mary is the girl in the purple helmet and her cousin Hannah is on her left.

Mary has a long way to go to recover from this terrible accident.  She is doing really well tonight, but in a lot of pain from the pins and rods that have been placed. She is still however able to eat her favorite donuts from Peace Love and Little Donuts so that is really positive!

We are reaching out for help with medical expenses.  It would be great if we could pull together some cash to help Mary and her family in this difficult time.

Thank you so much.
