Mary Figueroa is one of those humble heroes whose good deeds change the world every single day. Even if you don't know her, chances are someone you know is connected to her in some way. She has more stories and friends and adopted family members than you can imagine. Mary has dedicated her life to helping others--now it's our time to help her.
Mary's compassion and good will never ceases to amaze us. For most of us there are only 24 hours in a day--but for Mary there is ALWAYS time to help someone out. Whether she is making sure children succeed in school, working with parents to establish safe and healthy lives at home, or working tirelessly to send disadvantaged children to summer camp, she is the glue that holds so many of her communities together.
Mary's first round of cancer treatment a few years ago has left her feeling weak and tired--and for someone who does a thousand things a day for other people and never slows down, that is saying a lot! This time her cancer has come back and we are trying to raise money to send her to Sanoviv Medical Institute in Mexico for 3 weeks. Sanoviv is a fully-licensed hospital that offers a unique blend of conventional, alternative and integrative programs to help maintain good health and treat a wide range of diseases. Sanoviv uses “Functional Medicine” which addresses and treats the underlying causes of disease.
The program Mary hopes to participate in is the Rigvir Cancer Program. This is a tested form of immunotherapy that has treated multiple types of cancer. The Rigvir Virus mobilizes the body’s own natural defenses to fight the cancer cells. So, instead of working against, or suppressing, the immune system, as some other conventional cancer therapies do, Rigvir virotherapy works with and supports the immune system in the battle against cancer.
Mary WILL beat cancer again, but she needs your help to be able to participate in this wonderful, holistic healing program. It is a 3-week intensive costing $6,000/week, not including airfare and additional medical expenses.
