Mary Beth Gangwer & the fight against Melanoma

Donation protected

Mary Elizabeth Gangwer left this world Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at 12:55am. Mary Beth is survived by her husband of 41 years, Timothy Patrick Gangwer, her oldest son, Sean Patrick Gangwer, daughter Megan Elizabeth Yerrington (Gangwer) and her youngest son, Casey Owen Gangwer, as well as her sisters and brother. Mary Beth was and forever will be a beacon of hope, love, strength and heart. Mary Beth was a servant to her community and those she loved as a social worker and a devout Catholic, and will be very dearly missed.

Mary Beth was first diagnosed with Melanoma in 2017. After a very difficult battle and countless cancer treatments including unsuccessful immunotherapy and surgeries, she successfully came out of treatment cancer free.

In late 2019, after many MRI's, PET, and CT Scans she was re-diagnosed, this time with Stage Four Metastatic Melanoma. Again she was on the front lines of an uphill battle, and all through her her hospital stays, Doctor visits, scans, medications, medical studies, & pain, she never lost faith or hope.

Her smile and determination was and continues to be a guiding light to her family and everyone around her because first & foremost, her main focus and concern was us. Never herself.

We are hoping to raise $50,000, and our goal is to cover all existing medical debt for Mary Beth and her family, with the hope of having a remaining amount to donate to the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA).  Covering her hospital stays, treatment, and medical debt would greatly relieve the financial stress for her family during what is already an unbearably difficult and stressful time.

We hope that with your help, we can get ahead of where we stand now and help in the research to finding not just a cure, but a better approach towards treating even the symptoms of Melanoma. Melanoma is not just skin cancer. Lets do all we can for her, for those in the midst of it all, and for the future of this vicious disease.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and if you are unable to donate, please share our page so that we can spread awareness, not only for our beloved wife, mother, sister, confidant, and friend, but also for those who are fighting the hard fight as well.

Thank you for your time and support in our time of need.
