Mary Anne's Stroke Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Mary Anne had surgery on Monday, November 16th to remove a mass in her chest. The 5 hour procedure went very well and the mass was removed and sent off to be tested. The surgeon was very positive about the surgery and was confident that the diagnosis was going to be a noncancerous tumor. She was told she would be sent home by the end of the week.

Things took a turn for the worse early Tuesday morning when she had a massive brain bleed. She was rushed into emergency surgery.  The doctor said she had a “slow moving stroke”, something that had been building up for days and had she not been at the hospital already, she would not have survived. There was no brain shift, and the number that determines the pressure and swelling of the brain is in the negatives, which is excellent. The doctor has decided to keep her under sedation until at least next Monday (11/23).

It is unknown at this time what deficits Mary Anne will experience once she wakes up. She will be at Lakeland in the ICU for a minimum of a week, and will require lengthy hospitalization and rehabilitation once transferred from the ICU.

While Mary Anne and Mark do have health insurance, the out of pocket costs will be astronomical. It is our hope to raise funds to help alleviate some of the financial pressures caused by this devastating event.

Any donation, no matter the size, is appreciated.

On behalf of our family, thank you.
