Marv Greenberg Burial & final medical costs
My husband Marv Greenberg unexpectedly died on Jan. 11, 2021. Together for 30 years we had created a beautiful little family with the birth of our daughter Aliya followed by Ari two years later. Everyone who knew Marv loved that he was larger than life and could fill a room with his booming voice and storytelling style, and oh how he loved his career in commercial retail real estate. Marv was a true family man and we all knew he was always there with words of encouragement, a hug or the desire to want to help others in need by way of donations, “adopting” a school family to give monthly food baskets to that went on for 3 years, funding morning milk break for kindergartners for a year and more. He had a heart as big as could be and opened it to many.
Throughout the last several years Marv went blind in one eye suddenly, had emergency surgery, battled skin cancer over and over but the final health issues started this past August when he started coughing up blood followed by having a basic bronchoscopy done which sadly put his health over the edge. He spent many weeks in a coma before working so hard to try and battle back. His recovery process was long, complicated and so tough on him but I was there at the hospital cheering him on each and every day, putting our daily life on hold in so many ways and sacrifices.
Marv was rushed to the ER on Christmas Eve and suffered respiratory failure among so many other health difficulties. He finally came back home last Friday to continue to try and recover until his kind heart finally gave out early yesterday. Unfortunately our 12 year old son discovered Marv and I raced home from work immediately but there was nothing else that could be done even though I spent time doing chest compressions until the Police and Paramedics arrived to take over.
I now find myself with our two children and burying our “rock”. The medical expenses for the past 4+ months have been extensive, the cost of his burial is another major expense and when COVID-19 hit the retail leasing sector of commercial real estate our ability to earn an income was greatly impacted.
Those who knew Marv and our family know that WE have always been the ones who give to others in need, but today I must ask for your help for our family during this heartbreaking time so that we can pay his final costs and medical bills. Unfortunately due to having cancer in early adulthood, made Marv unable to get life insurance so there is no cushion at all for us to fall back on.
