Maru's Hospitalization Medical Bill

Marisa es una mujer admirable, inteligente, bella, excelente sentido del humor y con un corazon inmenso! Hace 25 anios q usa una silla de ruedas despues de in terrible accidente. Maru es una mujer independiente, trabajadora y siempre dispuesta a dar una sonrisa y ayudar a quien pueda.
A finales de Agosto, Marisa se cayo de su silla haciendo sus quehaceres diarios. Esta caida fue terrible porque se rompio las dos rodillas y se raspo la pierna, hacienda una herida de buen tamano.
Despues de dos semanas de estar en cama, inmovil y con su esposo cuidandola, Marisa fue al doctor para continuar sus cuidados medicos.
El dr. Anderson, al revisar la herida, encontro q tenia una infeccion seria y la mando al hospital Mount Sinai, a ser internada de inmediato.
Esto fue en Octubre 9 y aun sigue internada, ya van casi dos meses y parece q seran 3 o 4 semanas mas.
Marisa tiene seguro medico a traves del trabajo pero ningun seguro cubre todos los deducibles de su complicado tratamiento:
6 operaciones
2 tipos de bacterias /infeciones q se combatieron con antibioticos via "venas"y recien hace unos dias, lo cambiaron a antibioticos via oral.
Drenajes en la herida, diferentes evaluaciones y examines de sangre a diario para ver cual antibiotic era mas eficaz.
y tantos otros tratamientos.
Y hoy, Marisa tiene una cuenta q sobrepasa los 20,000 solo en los co-pagos q tienen q salir de su bolsillo. y aun quedan 3-4 semanas mas.
Sus ahorros han sido agotados, su paciencia y fuerza para enfrentar su hospitalizacion es admirable.
Pero este tragedia economica es demasiado para ella y su esposo. Las cuentas llegan todos los dias y Marisa sin saber de donde ni como va a poder con todas.
Les pido q ayuden a Marisa, con lo q puedan, un poquito aqui otro alla, podemos hacer una diferencia para que ella pueda concentrarse en su recuperacion y no en la desesperacion de no saber como afrontar el reto economico que esta hospitalizacion ha causado.

Marisa is an admirable woman, smart, beautiful, great sense of humor and a huge heart! 25 years ago she had a terrible accident and has been using a wheelchair since. Marisa is a very independent, hard working woman who is quick to share a smile and constantly help others.
At the end of August, while doing her daily home activities, Marisa fell and broke both knees and severely scraped her left leg .
After 2 weeks of being in bed rest, Marisa visited her doctor to continue her medical care. Dr. Anderson discovered that her wound had a serious infection and asked her to be immediately hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital.
This happened on October 9th and she continues to be hospitalized, 2 months now and possibly other 3-4 weeks .
Marisa does have health insurance through her job, however, no insurance covers all the co-payments of her complicated medical treatment.
6 surgeries
2 kinds of infections which were handled with intravenous antibiotics. Recently they were finally changed to oral antibiotics.
A machine has been attached to her leg, to drain the wound.
Countless test, treatments, and daily evaluations.
Today, Marisa has medical bills that total more than 20,000, only in copayments and she still has 3-4 more weeks in the hospital.
Her savings have been depleted, her patience and strength towards this difficult treatment is admirable. But this financial tragedy is to much for her and her husband. The bills arrive daily and Marisa does not know where to turn.
What we are asking is to please help Marisa, with whatever you can. I little here, a little there, we can make a difference so Marisa can concentrate in healing and not despair due to the financial challenge this hospitalization has caused,
