Marty’s Mighty Fight
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kat. I am currently 15 years old and a freshman in highschool. Just last week Tuesday, April 9th, my Dad Marty was admitted to the ER with symptoms of a high fever, vomiting, light headed, shortness of breath, nausea, and other serious symptoms. My Dad is a very tough guy and does not show his pain, but I could tell he was really struggling. When he was admitted to the hospital they found a mass on his lung about the size of a softball. Later that week on Friday he was diagnosed with inoperable Small Cell Lung Cancer. This cancer is very aggressive and rapidly spreading. The biggest mass out of the 3 is wrapped around his artery making surgery not an option. My Dad is a father to my 3 other siblings Logan, Taylor, and MacKenzie, he is an uncle, brother, friend, son, fighter, and he is married to a beautiful women, Amanda. My Dad is a fighter. He is not going to give up. He’s going to do everything possible to kick cancer’s butt. My Dad is the one you can go to when you need something, whether that be advice, a shoulder to cry on, problems that need fixing, heck he’d lend you the shirt off his back in the dead of winter. He’s my hero. My Dad has drove me all around the country Massachusetts, Florida, Nevada, Texas, Arkansas, anywhere so I would have the chance of a lifetime to compete for world champion in taekwondo. Though I did not win I would never trade that time with him for anything else. On top of all the medical expenses he will endure, my older sister MacKenzie is heading off to the University of Iowa this fall. Not to mention my college journey starts in 3 years. Being a small business owner in the automotive field is extremely physically demanding. As my Father continues to weaken from chemo he will be unable to work. I am asking you for any help and support so my family, friends, and I can continue making memories with him. Thank you.
