The Story
When times are challenging, when the things that scare us most make their presence known, we need to turn to our tribe. In 2018 there are few things that make us all stop and pay attention more than a single word: cancer. This vicious thing strikes without discrimination and can be relentless in its presence.
Our friend, Martin, has been diagnosed with CLL , a rare form of leukaemia. While the news was a shock, it came with hope: CLL can be treated, and the outlook for Martin can be good–but he and his wife Karen need our help.
Treatment
The treatment for CLL is time-consuming and needs Martin’s full attention and strength to fight. While disability will be paid out through work, the treatment will take him from short to long-term disability, and other expenses need to be covered, including groceries, additional help, and transportation.
Why We Need Your Help
This GoFundMe has been set up to help Martin and Karen with these costs so that Martin can focus on the task of getting better. His treatment began on October the 22nd and will be continuing for at least six months. Any amount will help and will be greatly appreciated.
