Martha Spencer needs our help and support.
As many of you know, Martha was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June. She has been undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments since and is now ready for the next phase of treatment. On October 6th, Martha will undergo a hysterectomy and surgery to remove the tumors.
Over the past few months, Martha has been amazingly strong and positive and has managed to continue working full time while receiving chemotherapy. However, Martha’s doctors have prescribed a 6-8 week recovery time after her surgery, which will be followed by another 9-12 weeks of chemotherapy. So as much as Martha loves the work she does and the people she works with, she has no choice but to follow orders and take a break.
If you know Martha you know how hard it will be for her to take this break and even harder for her to put herself first. Martha is always the first to raise a hand to help a family member or friend in need, so it is now our privilege to return the favor and support Martha through the coming months as she recuperates and regains the strength she needs to fight this battle.
