On Wednesday, Feb 14, 2018, I received the devastating news that my Mother had passed away. This tragic loss has left my family devastated and heartbroken. She leaves behind her husband and three loving children. My family and friends have lost a great, ambitious, loving Mother who was taken before her time.
Over a year ago my mother was diagnosed with a mixed connective tissue disorder. It's a rare autoimmune disorder that has no cure. Imagine trying to explain to your mother in your broken Spanish what her sickness was, even when you couldn't understand it yourself.
My Mamá was a stubborn, strong and an independent woman. (Una Chingona!) She never accepted "no" for an answer, especially from her children. She did everything for her family. She helped raised 3 amazing children all who in the next year will graduate from College, High School, and Middle school.
She was always surrounded by her family and beloved by all. She came to the United States before the age of 15. She wanted a better life and future for her self and her future family.
This woman sacrificed everything for me and my family just like her father did for her. She gladly helped everyone even if it meant gaining nothing in return. She was a mother to everyone, especially to all my primos. She will be truly missed but her memories are still here with us.
