Marshall Chevrolet Mechanics Fund

Donation protected
Unless you are from Winchester Illinois, you probably did not hear about the structure fire that burned down the local, small town, Chevrolet Dealer known as “Marshall Chevrolet”.

With the fire, not only was the company's property lost, but also my father and his coworkers’ lifetime collections of tools. My father and his colleagues had each collected these tools and used them to provide for their families.  They had all amassed quite a collection of tools over their lifetimes as  mechanics, the way forward is unclear right now, and I want to try to help my father and his coworkers in any way I can! There are approximately 6 or 7 mechanics currently employed by Marshall Chevrolet and when taking into account each individual tool collection and its replacement costs, the numbers grow very quickly and become a daunting task for each employee to replace, this directly affects the livelihood of each of the mechanics and his family.

Slowly built s over time and bought with the mechanics personal funds; comprehensive tool collections are not cheaply or easily replaced. These items are not covered by the insurance and can be seen as a personal loss to each one of the Mechanics affected by this fire. This also makes supporting their families difficult during the time of rebuilding and repairing for the dealership itself.

Without tools, financial aid, and being unable to work puts these hardworking men further and further behind financially. I would like to raise enough money to be able to provide each of the mechanics some sort of relief, to help get them back on their feet and able to work again, so they can once again provide for their loved ones.

I may not be a mechanic, but I was raised by one, and I know how much dedication and work goes into raising a family as one. I have a lot of respect and admiration for my father after growing up with his mentorship and guidance. I cannot say how much it would mean to me to be able to help him out during his time of need, because there is no way to put a value on gratitude of that magnitude.

I want to find a way to help my father and his fellow mechanics in any way I can. My father was a Marine, as was my mother, and I am an active duty Green Beret who is involved in a charitable organization myself. However, I know the limits of my organizations capabilities and I wanted to reach out and see if we could help these men get back on their feet as a community!

If we reach our goal, or even near it, I intend to divide it up into equal amounts and pass it onto the mechanics that, my father has shared a shop with for many years.

There is no deadline for this fundraiser, but the longer it takes, the more these men and their families are affected from this tragedy. I have reached out to several charitable organizations, professional motorsports teams, local organizations, and the community that these men live in. Hopefully, together we can provide some relief for these men! $10-$20 is a little to give individually, but adds up quickly with each new person that sees this fund. Please share it far and wide so we can accomplish our goal!

*ALL of the funds (after the GoFundMe service fee is covered) will go directly to the Mechanics affected*
