Dear friends, colleauges and supporters,
As many of you know, I am a candidate for the District 5 Idaho Senate position, which encompasses Latah and Benewah Counties. My background of public service and active involvement in our community for over 40 years makes me the ideal candidate to represent our district. It is a good time in my life to once again be involved in the political spectrum and I look forward to being a voice and making a difference for our community.
I am a 45-year resident of Latah County and a graduate of University of Idaho, with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture. I was a small business owner of Comstock Construction for 25 years and currently own and operate a small farm. I am actively involved in local government and have previously served 2 terms as the Mayor of Moscow and 2 terms on the Moscow City Council.
The following issues are of importance to me and need to be addressed.
· The adequate state funding of our public schools, to relieve the financial burden of local property tax payers.
· I support local businesses including our agriculture and timber industries.
· I question unnecessary government regulations and interpretation by DEQ and EPA.
· I feel it is important to protect, maintain and upgrade our transportation corridors including highway, rail, and river systems.
Running for public office requires hard work, dedication and funding. I would greatly appreciate any contributions to make my campaign a success!
