Marnie started feeling ill in January of 2017 with major stomach pain and extreme fatigue. In April, she woke up one night to excruciating stomach pain and was taken to Urgent Care, but even in the days following treatment there, the pain only got worse, not better. Her doctor recommended she go to see a GI specialist, because she had issues that he knew he couldn't resolve. After an appointment on June 20th, her birthday, she returned to hear grave news.
"You have cancer."
She was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer that metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes. There was no cure. She was told she could live for two more years or just a few more weeks- depending on her liver's reaction to chemotherapy. Meanwhile, she has turned bright yellow as the bilirubin numbers continued to rise. Unfortunately, chemo has not worked, and her body has begun to shut down. It's just a matter of time.
She will leave behind her husband, Scott, and four loving children- Brendan, 16; Breanna, 14; Michaela, 12; and Aidan, 9.
We, her family, are asking for help with funeral expenses and other related costs. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated.
