Marna's China Treatment

Dad and Mom (Wayne and Marna) have been married for over 30 years, and have been blessed with 5 children and 5 grandchildren. In April 2014, Mom was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a major surgery to remove the cancerous tumour, the cancer came back aggressively one year later, this time in her lymph nodes. Because it metastasized to her lymph nodes it was made clear that this time it was terminal. She was told that chemotherapy was her only option, and that it would never eradicate the cancer but only keep it at bay. Since the second diagnosis, her cancer has now spread to one of her bones, as well as to her lungs. In the recent past, God graciously brought to Mom and Dad's attention the work being done against cancer at the Modern Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou, China. This hospital offers treatment that is unavailable here. To put it simply, part of the treatment involves intense radiation combined with chemotherapy. The radiation is injected directly into the cancer tumours, and kills them from the inside. This treatment has been shown to prolong the life of stage IV cancer patients, and in many cases has even eradicated the cancer.

However, this treatment is costly, with possibly multiple  trips to China required. Knowing that this would be the best option for Mom, we would appreciate any amount, large or small, in helping us achieve the goal of sending our dearly loved Mom to the place where she would receive the best care possible.
