Marley's Miles ( raising money for my human family)

My name is Marley Earner and my human mummy is Corinna Earner. Just over a month ago we had the most terrible news that Corinna's younger sister Nadia has her breast cancer back and this time it has spread further than before, it's now in her liver and her bones. The saddest news is that this time there is no cure, just treatments to try and prevent the cancer developing rapidly. Corinna and I want to help raise funds for a family holiday, as Nadia has a 16 month old son Henry, who she desperately wants to spend as much time as possible with now. Nadia just wants to make as many memories with Henry while she can. In order to raise this money I will be walking the 630 miles of the South West Costal Path with my mummy, which I hope will take us between 2-2.5 months.

Nadia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 at the age of 28 yrs old, at the time of her diagnosis her doctors were shocked at how young she was. Having under gone a mastectomy, and very painful chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, we thought we had seen the last of it.  Nadia was told after her treatment that the one thing she dreamt of, a baby, was highly unlikely. As a family watching this from the outside it was very painful, we just wanted her to be able to carry on a normal life. Then by some miracle little Henry was born in  February 2016, despite all the odds Nadia had been blessed with the one thing that could complete her life. We thought finally Nadia has endured enough pain in life, now she can just enjoy it. Sadly how wrong we were.

In May this year, 2017, not too long after celebrating Henry's 1st birthday, Nadia had developed a really bad cough and joint pain. Having been encouraged to see a doctor, she was immediately referred to hospital for testing. It was the greatest sadness when our worries as a family were realised and Nadia was told that the cancer had come back but this time with more aggression and had it spread, it was now in her liver and her bones. Further to this, the bad cough was caused by fluid on the lungs and around the heart and she was immediately hospitalized and put on the cardiac unit. Having spent a week on the cardiac unit the Oncologist had Nadia moved to the Beacon ward (cancer ward) in Taunton's Musgrove Park hospital, where she still is to date. The family have rallied round ensuring that someone is by her bed every day so she's not alone, taking it in turns to bring in little Henry so he has constant connection with his mum and lasting memories of her.

The Oncologist has informed us that unfortunately this time there is no cure, that there are possible treatments to help limit further spread at the rate it has been developing. Nadia has started chemotherapy, but the treatment is painful and leaves her very weak. It's a scary and sad time for her, as no one can give definite answers. All they can say is she needs to enjoy her time with her little son Henry, make lasting memories with him and his daddy Martin and spending time with loved ones. We hope that she will be released from hospital soon so that she can enjoy her time.

We are trying to raise these funds because she and her fiancé Martin would love nothing more than to be able to take little Henry on their first family holiday, to make lasting memories of good times rather than focusing on the sadness that is felt at this time. Any donation would be gratefully received.
