Mark Slough Memorial Bench at VT

It's been over two years since our fellow Hokie, Mark Slough, was tragically killed. Many of us, his peers, are about to graduate and move into the next big phase of our lives...and he will be a big part of our early memories of this time, if not much of our lives (I've known him since I was two years old). He's not someone you ever forget.
This spring, Mark's family has been given permission to install a memorial plaque on a bench near Lee Hall, where Mark lived freshman year. The plaque will include his name and the phrase we all try to keep in mind, his tweet from just 3 days before he died: "Time is Precious." The hope is that you will take time to visit the bench before graduation (take some photos and post them on Mark's FB page) and again whenever you're back at VT for reunions, football games, etc...and that future students and visitors who never knew Mark might be encouraged to sit and think about the value of their precious time, too.
The cost of the plaque is $2500. Would you like to help contribute? We'd like to raise the entire amount by February 28, 2018. Anything you give will go directly to the Slough Family. If more than $2500 is collected, the family will send it to the Mark Slough "Bright Light" Scholarship Fund.
