This morning I woke up and made some breakfast for my son. Strangely enough, I started humming a song to myself and then singing the song "In The Jungle The Mighty Jungle" by the Beach Boys. I had looked everywhere for my phone while making breakfast and apparently the battery had run out last night.  The night before I began trying to plan a trip to visit my sick brother, Mark, in England who was in ICU and had been treated for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and sedated for a few days or maybe it was a week before Christmas. I was looking for my phone to find out how he was doing as I had been calling my Dad in England every day to find out how he is doing.

Finally, I found my phone and got in the shower. We all know how long it takes for an iPhone to charge when the screen completely goes blank. I finally get to my phone with the battery partially charged, with the battery still in the red and I see a message from my other brother. "Hey did you talk to Dad yet!" My heart sunk from my chest and slammed my partially charged phone on the dresser next to me. I know it was preemptive to react this way but what else could the message be. I immediately picked up the phone and called my Dad. The phone rang three times as my heart raced for hope. My Dad answers the phone and I ask him. "Hey Dad, hows Mark? Simon text me to ask if I talked to you." My dad replied in a solemn voice, "David... Mark passed this morning?" Then I hear the song in the background on my Dad's television playing "In The Jungle". My brother did a talent show with that song in grade school, for God's sake. From then on hope, was no longer real but the reality of the moment sunk in.

My brother Mark at a young age was a very intelligent, loving, and sporty kid despite his severe asthma.  Mark always had a smile on his face and enjoyed a good laugh, especially at the mercy of his two older brothers and youngest brother. Despite our differences, we were extremely close and always where there for each other. No matter what happened the young Lamb boys were always together causing mayhem or terrific fun wherever we may be with Mark always at the center. In his later years as a teen and young adult, Mark loved to go to the beach and Surf all day and night if he could. He loved learning and playing the guitar and music was just that for him, fun. I remember when he was really small around two or three years old, when he ate, he always had food all over his face. He sure did enjoy a good meal. When we would play outside we would all go on outdoor adventures into the wild. Pretending we were explorers in Africa or on some strange island. We would find actual wildlife and when we lived in California, all together, we occasionally would run into a rattlesnake, scorpion, or tarantula. But those critters never stopped us exploring the danger and just made the wilderness wilder for adventure.

Mark, you are my inspiration to live wild with adventure, love music, and always have a passion for life.

We love you always.

Your prayers and uplifting inspiration will always help guide our family.

Thank you for learning more about our brother.
