Mark Freeh Memorial Scholarship

On September 30, 2017, Mark Freeh passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Mark was not only the founder, but the heart and soul of Imperial Brass for over 25 years. A masterful arranger, Mark was constantly writing pieces for Imperial Brass, many of which have gone on to be performed and recorded by bands all over the world. His music certainly will live on.
His passion for brass bands was infectious, and over the years, he did all he could to share that love with everyone he met. He would often see great potential in young brass players, taking them under his wing, showing them what brass bands were all about, and in the process, helping them to truly learn what it was to be a musician.
It is in that spirit that Mark's family has requested this Memorial Scholarship Fund be set up, to benefit young brass players, giving them an opportunity to learn about brass bands by performing with Imperial Brass.
