CAL Maritime SAEP Summer Program
Dear Oakland Partner(s) in Education,
Our 2018 Summer STEAM Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP) is a 24/7, six week residential program providing science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics -- STEAM studies - to high school sophomores and juniors for early college preparation.
Our mission at SAEP is to develop, among the other activities mentioned above, the social soft skills, and leadership capacities of young high school women and men so that they are more prepared for post-secondary education, future prosperous STEAM careers and to return to local Oakland leadership opportunities.
We have been leveling the playing field successfully for our Oakland youth to go on to college for the last eighteen (18) years.
We, the Staff at the Summer STEAM Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP), cannot always control our funding circumstances, or companies’ commercial resources around us. We do have the the economically stressed and ethnically diverse student body on waiting lists right now, but NOT the sufficient funding needed to offer our Program free to our deserving students.
We have 10 students from McClymonds on the waiting list... Please help us fund this program by May 1st, 2018!
