Marisa Basso "You Got This!!"

Beschermde donatie
Marisa is an 18 year old University student and also a volunteer firefighter. Just over a year ago she had brain surgery to remove a tumor and now the tumor has returned. We wanted to make this page to help the family with expenses in Toronto and help with bills due to missing work. She will be returning to Toronto at the end of May.
What better way to describe the reason for this go fund me than reading it from her own post. Marisa you are the bravest and strongest 18 year old we know. You fought the tumor once and won and now you will do it again!!
The past year has been a wild one to say the least (most of you are going to need to take a deep breath before reading the next sentence because I’ve done a damn good job of keeping this a secret) 365 days ago I had my 1st brain surgery at SickKids to remove 1 of 2 brain tumours. Although I still don’t know much regarding my health since the surgery, i do have a pretty wicked hole in my skull ‍♀️  This “Adventure” has taught me a truck load of things like, you should always say I love you because you never know what the future holds, one day your here and the next you’re gone. Most importantly though I’ve learned that I am surrounded by the best people in the world. My Mum and Dad who stand by my side and walk straight through hell with me without any hesitation. My brother and sister who are always by my side, My aunts, uncles and cousins who always give me an extra boost when I’m down and wish nothing but the best for me. My nieces and nephew who keep me on my toes and always remind me of how much they love me whether its Ryder skipping out on giving everyone a hug except for me or Guilia who sneaks up out of nowhere and attaches herself to my legs or Charlie who brings a picture of me everywhere she goes. My Papa who drives me to my appointments and somehow manages to navigate the stupid streets of Toronto without ever getting lost. My Nana who loves me to death and always makes sure I’ve eaten to the point where I should probably explode. My friends who keep me smiling all day everyday whether we are in another boring French class or struggling immensely to build a seemly simple gingerbread house , My second family at the Fire Department. The kick ass people who I can count on for anything and everything they keep me laughing and smiling until my face hurts. When the days are long and the times are hard I count down the days until Tuesday night when I know good times will be had (I genuinely wish I was kidding right now but thats my life ) I have met some pretty awesome people this year, I got a lot of help from them and gave a lot of help back. I wanna thank Dr Drake and the whole team at sick kids for saving not only my life but the lives of so many others including the sweetest little boy named Daxon who I met on this journey and Am blessed To be able to watch him grow into a healthy, happy, adorable little man. I could never express how thankful I am to every person in my life so Shoutout to y’all reading this because without your love and support (although many of you didn’t know about this at all) I would never have been able to come as far as I have and although I have a long and dark road ahead of me I know I can count on y’all to be there every step of the way. So heres to a kick ass 2018 filled with lots of love, health and plenty of laughter.
Much Love to you all ❤️
