Marine Terry Beck Protective Services Scholarship

Tax deductible
The Kennel Club of Fort Atkinson (KCFA) nvites you to join the effort to honor the memory of local fallen Marine Lance Corporal Terry Beck, a K9 handler. KCFA is raising funds to create an annual scholarship in Terry's name.

This brave young man demonstrated a lifelong passion for the military and serving his country and enlisted in the Marines during the Vietnam conflict. Deployed to Vietnam in October 1967, he was Killed in Action with his K9 partner, Seato, that December, at the age of 18.

Many veterans and military working dog handlers, after being discharged from the service, transition to careers in law enforcement. The Terry Beck scholarship will offer financial assistance to them as they enter the field of Protective Services.

The scholarship will be open to Fort Atkinson seniors and graduates enrolled in a protective services program. According to the Fort Atkinson High School scholarship coordinator, between two and five graduates enter this field of study annually.

Financial support  for protective service students  is not readily available. This scholarship will satisfy that unfilled niche in addition to acknowledging Terry Beck’s passion to protect and serve his country and its citizens.
