Marina and eXXpedition Leg 5

I'm joining the group of badass women over at eXXpedition as they seek to make the unseen seen, especially when it comes to plastics in the sea. http://exxpedition.com/rtw/ 
My journey will start with them in December of this year in Aruba, where we will embark on a sailboat for Panama. Along the way, we take water samples and analyze the micro plastics we find in the water. 
The women of eXXpedition seek to raise awareness around marine plastic pollution, its effects on the ecosystem and our own bodies, and to empower people around the globe to help make a difference. I was inspired by them to start my own website/blog with a similar intent: www.earthyearproject.com (going live April 15th, a week before Earth Day).
Follow along on my blog for my stories, and help me to help eXXpedition in their efforts to understand the human impact on our planet's oceans.
