Funeral services for Marilyn Dionne Johnican will be held at 11 am December 22, 2017at North Main Church of God In Christ. The church is located at 7206 N. Main St., Houston, TX 77022. After the homegoing service, lunch will be served in the reception hall.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Marilyn's GoFundMe account. Donations will be utilized for the memorial service and projects started by Marilyn at her job at Hollis Innovation Academy in Atlanta, GA which included the following:
* The Hollis Food Pantry is partnership with the Atlanta Food Bank provides goods underprivileged students, their families, staff and the Hollis Community.
* The Kindness Club teaches students how to be kind and show empathy to each other. The staff participates every Wednesday by wearing their kindness t-shirts. At the end of month, the Marilyn Johnican Service award is presented nominated winners.
* The Uniform Closet provides uniforms and other clothing for students in need.
* Christmas For Every Child makes sure that every child at Hollis receives at least one gift.
