Marika's Family dream holiday

I'm running the London marathon on 22nd April 2018 in aid of our brilliant friend Marika and her family. In November 2016 Marika was diagonosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery and chemotherapy to remove the cancer. All seemed to be going well until tests later revealed the cancer has spread to another part of her body and the treatment hadnt been as successful as everybody had hoped. She has now been told that sadly she has between 2-5 years left to live.

Marika is 49 years old and mother to Ben 14 years old and Jacob 19. She is also wife to her loving husband Paul. Its clear to everybody who knows her that her family means the world to her.

She has worked 31 years as a nurse for the NHS caring for and helping others. 

In the short time I have known Marika she has become such a good friend and I feel honoured to know her and have the chance to run for her and her family. I met Marika through the Faversham running club and she never fails to amaze us all with her positive attitude, still running on a weekly basis, always smiling and encouraging others.

Ive recently heard from her that she has always wanted to visit New york City . So by raising funds through the marathon and other fund raising events we hope to make that wish come true for her and her family. This would be a great memory for her and all her family and give them memories that will last forever. I believe that  in all the years Marika has put others first and cared for them, she now deserves to receive something special back. so PLEASE PLEASE feel free to donate to this great cause and help us make this dream come true.
