Marie's PTSD service dog's torn ligament surgery

This GoFundMe page is for my wife, Marie, and her beloved service dog, Astrid. We recently noticed Astrid had a slight limp, so we took her to the vet to get her checked out. It turned out that she tore her CCL, and the surgery for getting her treated, TLPO surgery, is estimated to cost us $4500. This will cause us significant financial strain as we are both in college.

Marie has complex PTSD, and Astrid has helped her over the last 5 years. Marie's current degree focus regularly triggers her PTSD, so Astrid's support and assistance is incredibly important.

The timing of this injury is unfortunate. Marie needs Astrid for her classes, so it's crucial that she can recover quickly to stay by Marie's side.

About Astrid:

Although German Shepherds look menacing, Astrid is very gentle and affectionate. She's shy, mild mannered, and loyal, and she's also the sweetest dog I've ever met. After classes, Marie always takes Astrid to a field next to our campus to run around and play. She is a constant source of joy in both of our lives and we're blessed to have her.

How the funds will be used:

Whatever funds that are donated will go to paying off Astrid's surgical costs, medical expenses, and any additional medication. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Anything given after Astrid's surgery on Tuesday will go directly to paying off the surgery.
