</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div><strong>ARTIVISM FOR COLECTIVE CARE</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What is the Marica Fest?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is the first multicultural and grassroot organized festival in Mexico, created by LGBTIQ+ people for everyone. The event it’s free and held in the public space with the aim to reach wider visibility and participation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why is it relevant for our context?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The MARICA Fest is a decentralized festival created by <strong><em>DIVERSX, a Dissident Cultural Laboratory,</em></strong> whose aim it's the defense of LGBTIQ+ rights through Artivism. It takes place in Aguascalientes, one of the many very conservative states in Mexico, so the festival is a disruptive proposal that combats stigmas and prejudices about the LGBTIQ+ population and resignifies the word MARICA in public space.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Before MARICA Fest, these artistic and cultural spaces for the dissemination and visibility of LGBTIQ+ artists did not exist in Aguascalientes, during the last years we have positioned ourselves as a platform for the promotion and projection of emerging artists, both local and national. In addition to celebrating dissidence for 3 days through hosting more than 30 artists, and sharing with over 200 people, we want to commemorate the beginnings of the LGBTIQ+ movement in Aguascalientes in the year 2000, reclaiming our history and our own territory, taking a critical stance and denouncing the violence we face as LGBTIQ+ individuals.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Who benefits from this work?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This year we are going for the 7th edition of MARICA Fest -which will take place on August 23, 24 and 25, 2024- with a projection of 200 participants, benefiting the LGBTIQ+ population, the local and national artists, and impacting a wider population by happening in the public space in Aguascalientes. We need your support to make it happen!!!! Any donation will bring us one step closer in our fight for equality and the warranty or our rights!
</div>
