Maribells christmas fundraising

Last year in November (2017) Maribell sat with me during dinner and asked me (Tord Glad Nordahl) "What is cancer?".
We talked about it and she asked if all people died from it, although my reply was short «no», I could see shes just wouldn’t let it go by with just a simple «no». She quickly followed up her previous question with another one, asking more about cancer and specifically in regards to kids (she tried to relate), and if they had to stay at the hospital during christmas. Again my reply was "yes, some have to spend Christmas Eve at the hospital", she looked at me with a sad face and said "but dad, they wont get christmas gifts when they're not home!".
I told her not to worry and that they still celebrated christmas and would definitely get some presents, again this 7 year old angel asked me if she could sell some of her toys to collect money and buy new gifts for the kids at the hospital. As a father this really stroke me and I wanted to help.
We agreed to collect money by decorating our house with as many christmas lights we could and invite all our friends. We we're providing free gingerbread and warm toddy and people were advised to donate what ever they could afford.
In the end Maribell managed to collect NOK 17.050. This turned into gifts to the 4 kids that were spending the christmas at the local cancer treatment center in Norway. 3 Nintendo Switches and a lot of toys we're provided.
The intention to start theGoFundMe site is for the people outside of our contry that asked to be able to donate money to the contribution last year. Our goal this year is to expand and give more to more hospitals and kids.
Christmas is about showing gratitude and taking care about the people around us, although there is millions of people that need help a simple small contribution to this charity can mean the world to a 6 year old kid, who’s going through the toughest fight of their life!
