Maribel Font and Family

Maribel Chamorro was first diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer on December 2013. She underwent urgent surgery two days after her diagnosis. After her diagnosis she underwent three cycles of chemotherapy  in 2014. After a successful surgery she was on remission and was able to return to work. Unfortunately the cancer relapsed on September 2015. After the relapse she underwent another 4 cycles of chemotherapy and multiple hospital admissions since the relapse occurred in the gastrointestinal system. In August of 2017 she underwent another extensive surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible from her gastrointestinal system. After this surgery she stayed in the hospital for over 35 days. This has put a huge stress on  the family as the medical bills continued  to increase and get out of control. Since November 2017 she has been unable to eat and has been losing weight so she had to be placed on TPN which is a diet high in calories and nutrition in order for her to survive. The family has been strong during Maribels battle with cancer,  including Maribel herself.
Two weeks ago her oncologist gave the family some bad news that the tumors were not responding to the chemotherapy and that they will suspend further treatment for Maribel.
The doctors informed the family to start preparing and to possibly seek alternative measures to treat this aggressive cancer. 
Maribel will undergo another final surgery to hopefully prolong her life.
