Hurricane Maria relief for beloveds

Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico.
Two beloved friends, Maria and Mary Anne, live and work there promoting healthy eating and political justice.
Their home, which has a beautiful outdoor kitchen where my friend Maria teaches cooking classes, has been totally destroyed.

A text from my friend Maria:
"Thanks for your prayers! Mary Anne and I are good. The eyeball of the catagory 5 huricane passed right over us and to say the least it was impressive. I took 5 shits even before the high winds arrived and had both my roseries in hand. We have to go to a hilltop to find a signal and our voice mail is not working. All of Puerto Rico has been serverly affected by the huricane. Irma left us without water and power for over a week. It was a dress rehersal for what we are now living. The farms have been wiped out. They say it is going to take 3 to 5 years to recover. We are adjusting to our new normal.
"We lost part of our roof and my kitchen was destroyed by a huge fallen tree. FEMA is nowhere to be found. Many people have lost their source of income. 2 weeks after the storm we still have not gone into town because of lack of gas and the roads are adorned with fallen cables and transformers and mud slides. The storm peeled off the paint from the side if the house and twisted the tubes of our sistern. In short we have felt the magestic force of mother nature.
"We don't have savings to fix the roof and other things and we are reaching out to family and friends for financial aid. The internet is so slow that it is a huge task to upload anything and this is why we haven't started a go fund campaign. If you all can give us a shout out or upload a go fund me page that would be great. My new webpage is not offically published but you can refer people to it: www.misuarez.com. "We now have to shake the dust off our sandals and move on. There is new green on the branches of the trees that were not claimed by the storm and so, we have evidence of things not yet seen.
