Maria's New Leg

My Grandmother, Gwen Payne, would have turned eighty years old this year.  As a family we were discussing how life would be different if she were still here (she died 23 years ago) and what we could do to honor her memory.

My Aunt, Maria Payne Sheehan was my grandmother's fourth child and was born without bones in the lower part of her leg.  One of the things that was important to my grandma was that Maria never have to be at a disadvantage because of a poor functioning or cosmetically unattractive prosthetic leg.

Due to various life circumstances and astronomical medical costs, Maria has been unable to get a new leg for many many years and is in desperate need of a new fully intact and functional prosthetic leg. In honor of my Grandma's 80th Birthday and to celebrate Maria's birthday I have set up this account to help Maria afford a new prosthetic leg.
