,Marianna Carrillo ALS Fund

My sister Marianna Carrillo was diagnosed with ALS five years ago. Within these five years she went from an independent, strong minded, hard willed, go getter with dedication and a drive for achievement to an individual with A Stolen Life. I say stolen life because she has no more capability other then her mind. She speaks through a computer that senses her eye movement and aside from that has no functionality. She can no longer move in order to do any form of day to day or minimal activity. No range of motion in her hands, legs or feet. She can barely raise her head and hold it steady without adjustment. Marianna has two children a grown son and teenage daughter which she has no means of raising as a mother should or would. She has a two year old granddaughter that she will never be able to embrace, carry, nurture or hold in her arms with another on the way. The family at home has taken all possible steps to financially and emotionally support her in all her needs and have now depleted all financial resources. My father has searched all over for care assistance with a minimal amount of success. He now takes it into his own hands to care for my sister and attempt to care for my mother who suffered a severe stroke nine years ago and never recovered. My attempts to assist are at a minimum now aswell due to end stage renal disease. This has been a struggle with one medical complexity after another and we are no longer capable to do it ourselves. Regularly our family fights and pushes through on our own by working hard and finding our solutions. We've exhausted all possible government resources to the fullest and are no longer capable to do so without assistance.
