Mariann and Hermie's Helping Hand

As many of you know, my mother has gone through some pretty tough battles throughout her whole life. She was diagnosed with polio when she was 4 and was in and out of the hospital for years having many surgeries. Despite all of that, she was able to fulfill her dream and have a nursing career.  Post-polio syndrome has left her unable to work since 1996.   A few years ago, in 2013 she had blood clots in her lungs and legs and was hospitalized again.  In 2015 she had a brain tumor and had 2 brain surgeries 8 months apart.  She is still in a wheelchair and needs a lot of assistance.  My stepdad was her strength and main caretaker. Last week he had an 8 hour open heart surgery, he needed a quadruple bypass and is still in ICU.  After he leaves hospital, he will still need to spend at least a few weeks at a rehab before he can return to my mom.  It will be months before he can drive again.  In the meantime, every day is a real struggle for mom.  The bills are piling up and any little bit is greatly appreciated.  Thank you and God Bless.
