Woman and Infant in serious Highway 24 Accident

     Last night my close friend Mariah, her boyfriend and 6 week old infant were the victims of a serious car accident  involving a drunk driver.  The father suffered minor injuries, the infant was luckily unharmed, but Mariah sustained serious injuries and was flown to KU Medical Center in Kansas City KS. 
     As of now, she has broken her pelvis in three different places, as well as a broken rib, lacerated kidney, possibly ruptured bladder and a blood clot in her bladder. These injuries have caused numbness in her legs and will require a great deal of medical attention throughout the upcoming weeks, possibly including surgery. Along with her physical injuries, her long road to recovery will prevent her from being able to efficiently care for her daughter, Niyah.
