Maria Ornelas memorial fund

A loving mother, Grandmother, sister and friend. Anyone that new Maria Isabel Ornelas  knew she was a strong women, who stood on her ten toes regardless of any obstacle that came along. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and cherished them to the fullest. Maria would go beyond to make sure everyone was well taken care of. 

Unfortunately within 8 years of being diagnosed, Maria was another victim to lung cancer. This journey lead to multiple Dr visits, chemotherapy and radiation. Her family did the best they can to take care of her and keep her high-spirited and everyone that knew Maria new she wasn’t going to give up the battle. Unfortunately life got harder. Maria lost a son who also got diagnosed with cancer. She held on the hardest she can throughout her tough journey. However, earlier this year she got horrible news that her cancer spread to the brain.

Maria suffered from the tumor she had in her lung which led her to function with only one lung. the tumor it self was pressing against her heart, lacking oxygen. The tumors in her brain also grew, which caused a slight shift in her brain. Due to many complications, her oxygen levels decreased massively. Early Monday July 30th She had a cardiac arrest and was taken to the hospital. Maria never opened her eyes and was considered brain dead July 31st.

But if anything is for certain, maria gave it all she had through sickness and tragedy. She tried and gave it her all and was very thankful for the life she was given. Her smile will continue and he spirit will remain in our hearts.
