Maria loves God & overcoming cancer

Donation protected
Maria was not feeling well and thought she had an infection related to a wisdom tooth needing to be pulled. She was on antibiotics but it was not working and she was not getting any better.

On Tuesday September 4th she went to the hospital. They flew her to Oahu with very little notice or time to plan or prepare. It was confirmed the next day that she had Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a very aggressive cancer in her blood and bones.

She immediately started very aggressive chemotherapy. Her treatment will be a minimum of 30 days of in-patient treatment. In less than a weeks time she has already undergone 3 chemotherapy sessions and a blood transfusion. She is very strong and in good spirits despite the aggressive treatment and sudden disruption to her life.

Maria is a full time single mom with 2 biological sons and a foster son. She is also a small business owner who runs a successful cleaning business. She is also a selfless volunteer. She has cooked and served food for the homeless many Sundays. She cooks to support church mission trips and ministries. She serves in so many different capacities wherever she sees needs in the church and in any person's life. I am lucky to have gotten to be her neighbor. As her neighbor I witnessed her living out that generosity on a daily basis. She frequently had homeless children staying on her couch after getting to know their parent and finding out their kid was sleeping on the beach or in a car. She has a heart of gold. She does every bit of hard work and kind  thing not just for others, but because she feels called and therefore does it completely onto and for the Lord. She is one of the most generous people I have ever been privileged to know.

Because of the cancer she is now suddenly not able to work. She needs an expensive and long cancer treatment. She does not have insurance coverage for the treatment. She has 3 wonderful boys she still needs to raise into adulthood. She will need lots of time once she is out of the hospital to rest and recover from treatment.

The last thing Maria should be worried about is paying bills and finding work during her recovery. Please donate whatever you can to assist this kind, compassionate woman after God's own heart.  She has blessed so many and now it is time for us to bless her!
