Maria Caldera Aguirre’s Fight To Live

On Monday, September 12, 2022, our beautiful Maria was tragically shot by her uncle in an attempted murder-suicide. Maria is in very critical condition at OU Children’s Hospital where she was taken and not expected to survive. However Maria is a fighter! She has defied the odds and she is alive. She is scheduled to have surgery in her hand on Friday, September 16. As of today (Thursday), Maria is responding to family and nurses by squeezing our hands. She is responding to stimuli, and we are very hopeful! At this time, the care giver of Maria and her 5 siblings is her grandmother, Marcelina, who is unable to work due to Maria’s hospitalization. Medical expenses and other bills are pilling up and the family will benefit greatly from any help available. “Due to the tragic events that have happened in my home, I am hopeful to be able to relocate to another home without the memories my grandchildren witnessed first hand….their sister being shot by their uncle, and their uncle, my son, taking his life. Thank you for your prayers and support of our family during this difficult time.”  All funds that are raised will be distributed to Maria’s grandmother Marcelina who is also her 

legal guardian.
