Maria's Breast Cancer Fund

Maria Rathner was diagnosed in August 2018 with Stage III, Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a very aggressive form of cancer. She began chemo on 9/21 and will continue that for 24 weeks. Then surgery, followed by radiation. Because the outcome of the medical treatment is uncertain, she also wants to use alternative forms of healing, which insurance will not cover.

Maria is single, self-employed and will not be able to work for months at a time. She is also the main provider for her family, consisting of two children (in school) and two grandchildren - all that live with her.

She has no family to help her.

Within the next month, she will likely have to stop working altogether, though she is currently is working a few hours a week.

There are just so many expenses - from the insurance deductible and co-pays, college tuition, food and shelter for a family of Five, as well as alternative treatments that she will have to pay for herself. There is no way for her to cover all of these expenses. And the bills are already starting to add up. She cannot currently purchase some of the holistic medications that she would like to begin.
