WHAT ALBANY WANTS
Let's face it, we could all use a little more margin in our lives. You know, intentional breathing room; a different pace of life; space! Like margins on a page, a little room around the edges of life makes it a lot more comfortable.

That's why it is called Margin Coffee. It is a place to come, not to escape life, but to allow some time in our day to simply “be" while enjoying an excellent handcrafted beverage.

Opening a specialty coffee shop in historic downtown Albany, Oregon will add something new to the existing shops, bistros, and restaurants.

With no true coffee shop experience available in Albany's historic downtown, the addition of Margin Coffee will finally provide the place everyone has been looking for.

For several years we have wanted to find a local, casual coffee shop that offered a variety of brewing methods. And this desire isn't only our own. We've heard from teachers, city officials, doctors, and you! It seems that everyone wishes there was a brewed-to-order coffee shop downtown.

That's why we are doing this!

However, in addition to meeting a need through creativity, vision, and tenacity, starting a coffee shop takes money. The funds raised here will go towards making Margin Coffee the place you want to be.

Adding an extra $15,000 to our startup budget will ensure a higher quality of equipment, comfort, and design for those of you who wish to become regulars at  Margin Coffee.

Margin Coffee is on its way to open early this summer and you can help make this a reality by donating during March and April!

Are you a local business that would benefit from a great coffee shop downtown? How about pre-ordering gift cards for everyone in the office! Not only is a gift card something everyone loves receiving, but coffee helps employees be productive, and productivity drives sales and sales make everyone happy. Also, a pre-order helps us out too!

Make a donation of the total dollar amount (e.g. 5 employees x $10 gift card = $50 donation) with the note "From our small business to your's" and we'll be sure to get them to you!

If you aren't from Albany but still believe in what we are doing, you can still benefit from the rewards of a donation! Donate and private-message your mailing address. Based on your donation amount we can send you a bag of coffee or a mug or an entire gift basket!

WHO ARE WE
Gabe and Jon have been friends going on 8-years. Jon is a local from North-Albany and Gabe a 5th generation Oregonian from Oregon City. Clayton is another pure-bred Oregonian. We were introduced by a mutual friend who thought our similarities were uncanny. They were right and we've been friends ever since! Much of our friendship has been over' a good drink - coffee or otherwise.


"The dream to open a coffee shop sprouted from the need for high-quality coffee and great atmosphere closer to home. When I (Gabe) would drive down to hang out with Jon the meeting points were pretty limited in Albany. We couldn't find the coffee-shop experience we were looking for. So finally, we came to the conclusion that we can and should do something about it!"

 
GABE
I have Startup and Bakery experience with a couple small businesses in the Portland metro area and am training to be a counselor...because counseling and coffee are pretty much interchangeable terms.

JON
I have worked in education for the past 6 years. I am married with my first daughter on the way. I have come to appreciate the importance of a good cup of coffee and time with space to recharge.

CLAYTON
My name is Clayton. I am married to my wife Naudia and have a 17-month-old daughter, Pearl. I have always had a passion for good coffee, tea, and connecting with people. Mostly, I love adding a smile to someone's day.

Needless to say, we all LOVE coffee, care about community and are fully invested to see Margin Coffee becoming the best coffee shop around'.
