Margaret Stephens VS GBS

Margaret is a proud and active wife, grandparent, mother, adoptive mother, and home school teacher. She has recently been diagnosed with a paralyzing disease GBS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, that has turned her life upside-down.  Before her infection she was an unstoppable and passionate parent and full time home school teacher to seven children including three special needs children. She loved travel, her mountain home, animals, and caring for her family. Since the infection she has been fully paralyzed from head to toe. Restricted to a hospital bed between the Emergency Room and hospital to diagnose and treat the disease. She was then transferred to an intense rehabilitation center to teach her how to use her own body again. Doctors have predicted she will take several months to years to recover from the disease. Doctors have also warned that she may never fully recover control or use of certain parts of her body. She is also plagued with the recent diagnosis of diabetes type 2, and long time chronic fibromyalgia disorder. Margaret’s faith, courage, stubbornness, and determination are pushing her for recovery. A “GoFundMe” account has been made to help ease the financial burden she has, is and will continually incur. The fund will start with her rising medical bills, moving expenses, in home nursing care, and making her temporary and original home handicap friendly.
